Wallam Creek Rest Stop

Day 2: Kumbarilla Rest Stop to Wallam Creek Rest Stop

Up early and on the road, first stop was Moonie for fuel and a quick Breaky.

Out the front of the information centre there is a Big yabbie and Moonie holds races on the last Saturday in November.

There is information about the oil drilling in the area and is well worth a look and the toilets are exceptionally clean.

In St George, we stocked up on fruit and veg and lunch was down by the Balonne River. It is a lovely town with toilets and easy parking and a well-stocked IGA.

We hit the road again and made it to Bollon.

WHAT A RV FRIENDLY TOWN…….

Bollon has a free camp called Wallam Creek rest stop it has toilets, showers, and a dump point and is an easy walk to the pub. https://www.balonne.qld.gov.au/visitors/discover-our-towns/bollon

The van was so close to the creek, I was worried I would roll out the door and into the water.

What an absolute gem of a place. We arrived early today and decided to finalise our itinerary for the rest of the trip.

The kids found climbing tress and duck watching to be quite entertaining. If this is what the freedom camps look like in this area, we are in for a treat this trip.

Tomorrow is the start of the Natural Sciences Loop, onto Cunnamulla in the morning to see what it has to offer.
