An early start was needed as Townsville is our destination and this will take approx. 9 to 10 hours and over 800kms. So we left at 5am, stopping only for fuel we pushed hard to make the Km’s needed.

We stopped for fuel at Mt Larcom, Ogmore Lunch at Ilbilbie, fuel and a chocky milk at Proserpine and then the big push to Townsville. Poor Maarten was on his own driving today, I was so tired that when I did drive the car yelled at me to take a break 😪🚗🤯. Being one to listen to what I was told I slept most of the way… 😜

We arrived about 6pm and called Tasman Rowes Bay Caravan Park for the proximity to the city for 4 days. We planned to have new years in Townsville and cause this was a BIG drive day we were going to take a rest day.

Upon arriving at the Caravan Park we found a large park pull over bay so we could check in and were allocated to C10. we found the sites were lovely angled sites that fit the van and car easily with an elevated concrete slab, even in our adventure pack van didn’t need the step.
