We leave our Avan Aspire 617 HT at Andergrove Caravan Park to spend a full day planned to explore Mackay.

Our research shows, Mackay is home to Australia’s longest stretch of sub-tropical rainforest, explore untouched nature. We plan to see as much of this as we can today.

WOW this coastline is amazing….

We travel onto the painted water tower at Slade Point. Anyone travelling Australia needs to make sure they find these hidden gems.

We rounded the day out with he botanic gardens and walked from one end to the other. Mackay is definitely set up for fitness with walks and equipment in the parks.

I recommend Mackay as a destination and the Andergrove Caravan park was a brilliant for us to base ourselves to enjoy this wonderful town

Since we are getting to the pointy end of our trip we need to make a decision on which way we head, to we start the trip back down towards Brisbane… which way to go?????

All about the Avan Aspire 617

This is a triple bunk van with a full ensuite, As a family we have travelled in a variety of vans, starting with the Golf Bush Challenger 4, Golf Maxxi 573 and the Avan Aspire 499.

This is the first time the boys have had their own bed, a hidy hole for their “stuff” and a wardrobe with room for games…. Yes this was a dream van for our family.

The Avan Aspire 617 towed like a cloud behind us. The size meant we had to be a bit mindful of where we went and we had to make sure we fit, but it really wasn’t an issue, just a consideration.
