Day 9: Richmond to Charters Towers

Start: 1045am

Morning we started at Kronosaurus Korner Museum. This is a great display of fossils and a self-guided tour with well-presented material. Personally, I enjoyed this style of tour, you can go back a enjoy the presentation again at your own pace.

The find of the Kronosaurus is remarkable. To have found this as it lays in the museum must have been very exciting.

Onto Hughenden, we had lunch at a park next to the flinders river, I will advise you to watch out for birds they like to flock around you and are not afraid…

This was the last stop on the Dinosaur Trail for us, the Flinders Discovery centre we found this was a lovely display with well layout displays that the kids really enjoyed.. The lady at the desk was brilliant, so friendly and inviting, “where are your from?” she asked “Brisbane” we replied. “OH your locals then” LOL…

I snuck back into the gift shop to get Little Maarten a gift of his gemstone kit and a slither of a colour rock. Right up his alley for his 10^th Birthday tomorrow.. We continued our travel and ended up staying at the Top Tourist Park Charters Towers. We were in later than normal but we quickly made dinner and took the kids to the pool to burn off some energy.
