Cloncurry to Richmond
Start: 10:15am
This morning we took a drive around Cloncurry, it is a small tidy town. There is a really pretty visitor centre with mining items in the front park area. We found silo art on a water tank at Chinaman’s lookout. WOW what a view from there. We checked out the Chinaman’s Dam as well and gee it is low. This is one thing that we are taking from this trip is how little water there is out here. You hear it on the news but travel out here and the reality of is still hits you hard..
Onto Julia Creek.. this beautiful town has a wonderful display to its soldiers next to the RSL well worth a look and a read of the stories. They also have the most beautiful RV friendly camp very close to town there is also a caravan park and a swimming pool across from it with a waterslide park. We found the Apex park to set up for lunch.
We continued onto Richmond as this was our next stop on the dinosaur trail, we need to go to Kronasauraus Korner tomorrow and will be staying at the Lakeside Caravan Park, but we did find a council run park right in the middle of town just $5 for 3 days, cant ask for much more can you…..
Finish: 1500
