Eromanga

Thargomindah to Eromanga rest area

Today we took off a bit later today as we had to make changes to our trip.

Cameron Corner’s road was closed due to a storm, a few km’s of the road was washed away.

Plans changed so we divert past Cameron Corner and the Dig Tree and will incorporate them in the Birdsville trip.

Lunch was at Nooctunka hotel were the population is 3… there is a freedom camp and toilets and showers.

Today is a long drive to Eromanga as there is nothing on between, little did we know were driving in a large impact crater, we found this out when we joined the tour of the Eromanga Museum.

The Museum was very informative tour with an extremely animated tour guide. https://enhm.com.au/

Armed with a hot tip from the tour guide, a stop was planned for the Caravan Park Cafe for thick shakes.

On the way, photos were take with the dinosaur art sculpture that were in Brisbane for the G20 summit and gifted to the town for display.

We found a freedom camp about 40kms out of Quipie and we were the only ones for the night, not even cars or trucks passed us overnight, it was so quite and a wonderful spot to stop.
